My P90X Success Story

By Robby Lollar On July 18, 2010No Comments

My P90X success story is probably pretty similar to most.  Late one evening, I found myself, fat, depressed, and sitting in the recliner probably with a bag of chips watching an infomercial for P90X.  This was at least the 3rd time I had seen the infomercial, but this time I decided to act.  I wrote down the phone number and made the call.  I was nervous at the time as I had heard that the program was difficult and I wasn’t sure I would be able to do the included workouts.   I ordered the P90X Peak Results Package that included the P90X training system with nutrition guide, P90X pull-up bar, three B-Line resistance bands, and a month supply of the P90x Results and Recover formula.  Well, about 4 or 5 days latter my P90X program arrived and my transformation began.

On day one I was 222lbs

P90X Before | After Pictures

By Robby Lollar On July 18, 20102 Comments

Check out my P90X Before and After pictures and let me know what you think.  I have to admit, when I took the Day 1 pictures, I never imagined I would be posting them on a blog for anyone to see.  I was very disgusted at how I looked and how out-of-shape I had let myself become.  By day 30 of P90X, I was feeling much better but still only a little happier with the pictures and reluctant to share.   I really feel like it was Day 60 where major differences were starting to show giving me all the motivation I needed to push through the 3rd month of P90X.  Looking at the Day 90 pictures, I am very please with the results.  I’m stronger, healthier, and most importantly, happier.  It’s hard to believe that this change happened in only three short months.  For information about my P90X Results, see my

My After P90X Plans

Hybrid P90X INSANTIY Workout ScheduleNow that I have completed my first round of P90X, the question I am most often asked, is, “What’s next?”  I thought about this a lot during my 3rd month of P90X and came up with the idea of trying to put together a hybrid workout schedule including P90X, P90x Plus, and INSANITY Workout.  I searched online for a workout schedule to follow that included the three Beachbody workout programs and couldn’t find one that I felt was well constructed or well thought out;  so, I decided to put one together.  Once I started laying it out, I decided to also put together other hybrid workout schedules for P90X with P90X Plus and P90X with INSANITY Workout to help others

P90X Review | Ab Ripper X

By Robby Lollar On September 7, 2010 No Comments

What is Ab Ripper X you ask?  Just a mere 349 abdominal exercises stuffed into just under 17 minutes.  This workout is an add on to all resistance workouts like Chest and Back, Shoulders and Arms, Legs and Back, Chest Shoulders and Triceps, and Back and Biceps.  So, one can expect to complete Ab Ripper X 3 times per week every non-recovery week; in other words, weeks 1-3, 5-7, and 9-12 for a total of 30 times.  One thing I really like, and thought I should mention, is that Ab Ripper X is actually included on all the above-stated workout disks so one doesn’t have to change disks between the two workouts.

At first, I found this extra 17 minute workout to be very difficult and I could only do a handful of each exercise.  Like every other P90X workout, I was able to complete more reps with each attempt and actually came to enjoy Ab Ripper X by the start of the 2nd Phase or week 5.  To be clear, it didn’t get easy, I

P90X Review | Chest & Back

By Robby Lollar On August 24, 2010 No Comments

I must preface this post by saying that this workout, P90X Chest & Back, is my favorite of the series.  I also think I should point out that I believe it’s the most difficult if you really give it your best effort.  Now for the good news, it’s not on the P90X schedule until…wait a second…the very first day!  Actually, this workout is included in weeks 1 -3, 9 and 11.  I still remember my first attempt at this pull-up and push-up infested one hour of muscle-pumping push and pull.  I could only do a very small number of assisted pull-ups and the majority of my push-ups ended up being on my knees.  Now for the actual good news, each time I completed this workout, I was able to more pull-ups and push-ups than my previous attempts and by week 9 all push-ups were from the standard plank position and my pull-ups were no longer assisted.

P90X Equipment | Essential | Recommended

By Robby Lollar On August 14, 2010 No Comments

So, what equipment is needed to complete P90X?  This is the question I hear often when talking with someone about the program.  The most simple answer is to purchase the P90X Peak Results Package which includes the P90X Chin Up Bar, B-Lines Resistance Bands, and a 1 month supply of the P90X Results and Recovery Formula.  This is really enough to get you started, but I have some additional recommendations.   Now that I have completed my first round of P90X, I think I can accurately say what is absolutely essential and what is additionally recommended based on my P90X Success.  To start, these are the Beachbody items that are absolutely essential:

Beachbody Workout Reviews

By Robby Lollar On August 4, 2010 No Comments

As of yesterday, I started my second round of P90X.  Honestly, I could hardly wait to get back to it after a full week off following the completion of my first round.  As you have probably seen on my After P90X Plans or P90X Success Story, I am doing a P90X, P90X Plus, INSANITY hybrid workout schedule.  Since this is my second time through the P90X, I feel that I have a pretty solid basis to review the workouts as I go through them this time and I am excited to take on the P90X Plus series and Shaun T’s INSANITY Workout.

I will be providing daily workout reviews as I progress through my hybrid schedule.  In each review I will try to touch on what equipment is needed, my likes and dislikes, what I find particularly difficult, the types of exercise to expect, and any tips I have for completing each
